Who we are
RCHS Band Boosters, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
It is the purpose of this organization to:
Act as a booster club for the support of the Roane County High School Band program and its facilities
Promote and encourage participation and support for the Band by students of Roane County High School
Aid & assist in the maintenance of the Roane County High School Band
Assist in the acquisition of equipment for the Roane County High School Band
Aid and assist in such worthwhile projects and for the improvement of said facilities
Supporting the Band
Supporting the band means making sure the students of the band have the things needed to practice, perform, and grow. Boosters organize support efforts such as the First Aid support & refreshments for Summer Band Camp. Organize and funding of the Senior Night Banquet. Boosters organize chaperones for student supervision on away games & competitions, coordinate volunteers for a wide range of functions and activities including festivals, concessions, and more.
Supporting the Band also means supporting parents & guardians of band students. We work to help the Band Directors get information out to all parents & guardians in a rapid manner with the goal of insuring that the important items like calendars, itineraries, and the like aren't abandoned in a music folder or backpack. Contact information for officers and committee chairs is available on this website, allowing any parent or guardian to reach out with questions they may have. As well, we regularly email announcements so that those on the Band Boosters distribution list are kept informed.
Why Boosters Are Needed
In an ideal world, band activities would be fully funded by an overflowing school budget. Unfortunately, that is not the reality of educational funding today. In a typical season, the budget for the Marching Band alone exceeds $45,000 with Guard, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band programs adding to that total.
With a budget of $500 from Roane County Schools, the remaining gap is funded by student fees and funds raised by the Band Boosters.
Example of Marching Band Program Funding (does not include Guard, Wind Ensemble, and Concert Band programs):
Marching Band Program Cost (example) $45,000
Roane County Schools Budget $500
Student Fees $20,000
Funding Gap $24,500
We also work to coordinate activities on request of the Directors, freeing time for greater focus on student-facing functions.
The more we do for the students in the program, the more funding is needed.
Our commitment to openness and transparency:
Membership is open to all parents and guardians of students in the Roane County High School band program.
All roles in the Band Boosters are filled by volunteers.
No officer, chairperson, or volunteer is compensated for their time by any method.
100% of all donations received and funds raised go directly to fund band programs and events.
Financial reports are provided by the Treasurer at each meeting and all details are available upon request.

RCHS BBA Assistance
The RCHS Band Boosters supports the band program by providing things that are not covered by the the school. The Boosters provides uniform purchases and maintenance of the uniforms, equipment. instruments, water, transportation costs (for both away games and competitions), show props and more.
The Boosters support all aspects of Marching Band, Concert Band, and Color Guard
Due to increased costs, the band requests additional support. To help offset, the boosters will continue to work existing and new fundraisers and have added new "add-on" sponsorship opportunities In order to continue to meet the band's needs, a request for assistance is for each family to contribute $30 to the band program
This is not required to participate, but it allows the booster program to keep the same level of support to our kids in a growing program as past years.
Thank you!!
